Elder Michael T. Ringwood, General Authority Seventy and member of the Church Board of Education, will be the featured speaker during BYU–Hawaii's Winter 2024 Commencement.

Commencement Schedule

  • 7:45 am: Graduates assemble in the Aloha Center Ballroom for the academic procession.
  • 8:00 am: Cannon Activities Center doors open.
  • 9:00 am: Family and friends to be seated in the Cannon Activities Center.
  • 9:15 am: Academic procession departs from the Aloha Center.
  • 9:30 am: Commencement exercises begin.
  • Lei giving to follow outside the CAC at the conclusion of the ceremony.

About the Speaker

Michael T. Ringwood was sustained as a General Authority Seventy of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on April 4, 2009.

Church Service

Elder Michael T. Ringwood was sustained as a General Authority Seventy of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on April 4, 2009. He is currently serving at Church headquarters as Executive Director of the Priesthood and Family Department and as a member of the Priesthood and Family Executive Council. He is also a member of the Church Board of Education.

Elder Ringwood has served in a number of Church callings, including a full-time missionary in the Korea Seoul Mission, bishop, high councilor, high priests group leader, Scoutmaster, stake president, and mission president.

Professional Life

Elder Ringwood graduated with a bachelor of arts degree in accounting from Brigham Young University in 1983.

Personal Life

Michael Tally Ringwood was born in Provo, Utah, on February 14, 1958. He married Rosalie Nelson in December 1982. They are the parents of five children.
