These tasks are designed to be completed efficiently through the Workday portal, allowing you to manage everything from privacy settings to financial aid authorizations in one centralized location. Keeping this information current is vital, as it impacts your ability to register for classes, receive timely financial disbursements, and stay informed about important campus announcements throughout your academic career.

Personal Identity & Privacy

Students can review and update both their legal and preferred names in Workday. To quickly access these tasks, use the universal search bar and search for:
- Change My Legal Name
- Change My Preferred Name
Legal name changes require supporting documents, while preferred names can be updated at any time.

Students can review and update their personal information in Workday, including:
- Date of Birth
- Marital Status
- Race or Ethnicity
- Religion
- Citizenship information

Students can manage how their information is shared within Workday. They may:
- Control directory visibility
- Choose what information appears on their public profile
- Update consent preferences

Toggle ItemReview Permissions for My Third Party
Students can add or remove third-party users, update their access, or modify and revoke permissions at any time.
Use the universal search bar and search:
- Manage Permissions for My Third Party
Granting access allows the university to share approved information with the selected individual(s).

Toggle ItemReview My Friends and Family
Students can add emergency contacts, family members, or other trusted contacts in Workday. They may:
- Add new contacts
- Edit existing contacts
- Remove contacts no longer needed
Contacts are managed through the Friends and Family tab under the Contact section in their profile.

Toggle ItemAdding Student Dependent(s)
Students who need to add or update dependent information can submit a request through Workday. Dependents may include a spouse or children. Use the universal search bar and type:
- Use the universal search bar and type: 'Create Request'
- Select 'Student Request for Dependent Information'
Students can also review dependent records in their Additional Data section after submission.

Students should keep their contact information current in Workday. They can:
- Add or update addresses
- Add or update phone numbers
- Add or update email addresses
- Remove outdated contact information

Financial & Legal Requirements

Toggle ItemSocial Security Number (SSN)
Domestic students must submit their Social Security Number (SSN) and supporting documentation. To quickly access this task, use the universal search bar or navigate to your onboarding tasks and select:
- Change My Government IDs
Adding an SSN requires uploading a photocopy of your Social Security card for verification, which will be removed after confirmation from administrators.

Toggle ItemTitle IX Course
The mandatory Title IX Course can be accessed by:
- Go to myBYUH Student → Canvas (log in with BYUHNetID)
- Open Courses → Title IX Course
- Finish all modules and quizzes
- Returning to the onboarding task, and click Submit or Save for Later
This must be finished before receiving your Student ID card.
