Have Questions? We're Here to Help

All registration and enrollment processes are now completed through Workday Student. Find quick answers to common questions about registering for classes, managing your schedule, and navigating Workday.

    Eligibility and Access

Before you can pick classes, you need to ensure your account is set up correctly and you are cleared to participate.
    • In Workday, you may have both a Worker and Student profile. Follow these steps to switch:

      1. Click your profile photo (top right corner)
      2. Select View Profile
      3. Look under your name:

        • If it says “Student”, you are already in your student profile
        • If it shows your job title, you are in your worker profile
      4. If you are in your worker profile:

        • Look for a link to your Student profile on the Summary tab
        • Click the link to switch profiles
    • You’re eligible once your registration window is open and you have no active holds. Always check both before attempting to register to avoid errors.

    • Common reasons include:

      • Active holds on your account
      • Missing prerequisites or requirements
      • Your registration window is not open
      • The class is full

Always review the error message shown in Workday for specific details.

    • Go to your profile → Action Items and Holds to view details. Each hold includes instructions and the office responsible (e.g., advising, financial services, health center). Follow the steps listed or contact the appropriate office.

    Planning Your Schedule

Use these resources to find the right courses and prepare your ideal timetable.
    • Search “Find Course Sections” and filter by semester, subject, or instructor. To know which classes you need, review your Academic Plan or consult your academic advisor to stay on track for graduation.

    • Yes. Each course section shows important details such as instructor, meeting times, available seats, and delivery format (in-person or online).

    • A saved schedule is a pre-planned set of classes that helps you register quickly once your window opens. It’s optional but highly recommended for faster enrollment.

    • All registration is done in Workday Student. You can search “Find Course Sections” to register manually or go to Academics → Plan to register directly from your academic plan.

    • You register during your assigned registration appointment. Check it in Workday by searching “View My Registration Appointment.”

    During Registration

These questions address common issues and tools used while the registration window is active.
    • Check for error messages in Workday. You may need to:

      • Choose a different section
      • Clear a hold
      • Request permission
      • Join a waitlist
    • You can join the waitlist or look for another available section. Waitlisting allows you to hold a spot in line if a seat opens.

    • Go to “View My Courses” or Academics → Current Classes to confirm your enrollment and view your schedule.

    Making Changes and Deadlines

If your plans change after your initial registration, use these procedures to adjust your enrollment.
    • Go to “View My Courses”. In the My Enrolled Courses table, locate the class you want to change. Then, click the Actions button next to that course.

      1. Drop: Remove a class early with no record
      2. Swap: Replace a class without losing your seat unless the new one is confirmed
      3. Withdraw: Remove a class after the deadline with a “W” on your record
    • Late changes may impact your academic record, tuition, financial aid, or visa status. Always review deadlines before making changes.

    • Yes, you can make changes during the add/drop period. Deadlines vary each semester, so check the academic calendar.

    • Search “Create Request” in Workday and select Reduced Course Load (RCL). Approval is required.

    Academic Progress & Graduation

Once your classes are complete, focus on tracking your achievements and preparing for your degree.
      • Grades & GPA: Go to Academic History or search “View My Grades”
      • Transcript: Search “Generate Unofficial Transcript” to download a copy
    • Search “Apply for Program Completion” in Workday and submit your application. After applying, complete the commencement questionnaire under "Awaiting Your Action" section and wait for approval.
