COVID-19 Vaccination Verification Deadline – Winter 2022

Wednesday, December 01

New and returning students who have not already done so in previous semesters will need to provide proof to the university of their completed COVID-19 vaccination. Students should email healthcenter@byuh.edu with a copy of their vaccine card or certificate. After the deadline, students who have not submitted proof of COVID-19 vaccination may be discontinued from classes. A registration hold is also in place until verification is received.

  • It is expected that students residing in the United States have access to COVID-19 vaccines and can be fully vaccinated to meet this deadline.
  • International students who have access to a World Health Organization-approved COVID-19 vaccine in their home country should seek to be fully vaccinated by the deadline.
  • Students whose COVID-19 vaccination status is incomplete or cannot be initiated by the deadline must email healthcenter@byuh.edu to verify their commitment to comply with the requirement and avoid being discontinued from classes.
  • International students who are unable to access a World Health Organization-approved COVID-19 vaccine in their home country will be scheduled for COVID-19 vaccination upon arrival to campus.

At the present time, all travelers entering the State of Hawaii are subject to requirements to either self-quarantine for 10 days, provide proof of being fully vaccinated for COVID-19, or provide a negative COVID-19 test result from a Trusted Testing and Travel Partner. To accommodate international students who are unable to be vaccinated or tested prior to arrival, the university will administer a Modified Quarantine Program on campus. Students must register and review procedures in advance before being authorized for MQ participation.

NOTE: Students who have already provided proof of completed COVID-19 vaccination to Health Services in order to attend previous semesters will not need to send vaccination verification again. This deadline is for students who have not yet provided proof of vaccination.
